Affordable web design that still feels considered

Affordable web design should mean a fair, fixed price for a website that looks cared for, not a rushed template with your logo dropped in. With me, proper search planning and finished copy come inside that price, because I run an SEO consultancy and write every word myself. Sites start from £590, so you get something that feels expensive without the agency invoice.

What "affordable" should mean

Affordable is about value, not about doing less.

Plenty of websites are sold as affordable. Some are genuinely good value. Others save money by handing you a template, a login and a blank page, then calling that a website.

When I say affordable, I mean you pay a price that makes sense for a small business, and you get everything a small business website needs to earn its keep: clear words, a design that builds trust, fast pages and the search basics done properly.

I keep my prices down by working in a lean way. I keep them honest by publishing them. You can see how they compare with typical UK prices before you ever speak to me.

And because every quote is fixed, you know the whole cost before any work starts. No hourly meter running in the background.

Where the money goes

Where I save, and where I never cut corners

This is the honest breakdown. The left column keeps the price low. The right column is why the site still works.

Where I save

  • No account managersYou talk to me, the person doing the work. No layers of people to pay for.
  • No bloated softwareFast, lightweight builds instead of heavy page builders with yearly licence fees.
  • A proven structureI adapt a page plan that I know works, instead of billing you for weeks of discovery workshops.
  • One focused review roundClear feedback, made in one go, keeps projects short and costs predictable.

Where I never cut corners

  • The wordsI write your copy. Vague words are the number one reason small business sites fail to convert.
  • Mobile designEvery page is designed for a phone first, because that is where most of your visitors are.
  • SpeedPages load quickly on weak signals. Slow sites lose visitors before they see a thing.
  • SEO groundworkTitles, structure, schema and local details, done properly from the first day.

Packages

Affordable, and fixed.

Who it suits

Built for businesses that watch every pound

Affordable does not mean small-minded. Some of the most successful local businesses I know run on tight margins and spend carefully. They want a website that pays for itself in enquiries, not one that impresses other designers.

That describes a lot of tradespeople, independent salons, new therapy practices and one-person consultancies. It also describes plenty of established firms whose current website simply stopped earning its keep.

If that sounds like you, an affordable website that is clear, fast and properly written will do more for you than an expensive one that looks clever and says nothing.

Questions

Affordable website questions

Anything else on your mind about budget? Ask me directly.
What makes your web design affordable?

A lean way of working. One person doing the planning, writing and building, no account managers, no heavy software licences and a proven page structure that I adapt rather than reinvent. The savings come from process, not from skipping the work that matters.

Will an affordable website look cheap?

It should not. Cheap-looking sites usually come from generic templates, stock photos and vague copy. I avoid all three. You get typography, spacing and writing that feel considered, at a price a small business can manage.

Do I own the website?

Yes. Your domain is registered in your name and the finished site belongs to you. If you ever want to move it to someone else, I will hand everything over.

Can I start small and add pages later?

Absolutely. Many people start with the one-page Starter Website and add service pages once enquiries pick up. I design with that in mind, so the site grows without a rebuild.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. The quote covers design, copy, build and launch. Your domain and email have their own small yearly or monthly costs, which I explain up front. Anything extra only happens if you ask for it.
